Hit 90 balls tonight for the first time this year. Been spending a lot of time focusing on resting and strengthening my back. I’m allowed to hit 2X per week now and I’m curious how it holds up.
I started with some 1/2 7i punch shots for the first 40 or so. Felt good. Moved on to full shots and those felt good too. Definitely rusty but honestly, I don’t feel like I lost any ground. In fact, I think I noticed a bit more flexibility in my lower back and hips, so the work is paying off. I did feel a bit odd in the setup.
By continuing to focus on finishing my backswing before moving forward all together, I’m on plane. I also focused on feeling like i squat into the ground on the forward swing and that led to solid contact. Picking up is an issue and I need to fix that.
Will see how it feels tomorrow, but I’m happy to be hitting golf balls again.
